About

Dotd (dick of the day) is about seeing and being seen. It’s about being your own mirror and trying to discern the gaze of other people from your own, realizing it’s impossible, and nonetheless trying to find your way through to the other side. What kind of terrain might the other side possess? What might it feel like to desire yourself? Why does self-desire seem to threaten others?

Dotd posts the kind of dicks you might see on trans men who are on testosterone therapy, dicks otherwise known as bottom growth or t-dicks. My use of the word « dick » isn’t prescriptive and isn’t assumed to be a universal appellation for that part of the body. But this is my artistic venture, and the wellspring is my body and my relationship to my body and my desire. Therefore, I will be using my language. This language, as I use it, is not a suggestion or a preference. It is my ontological reality.

Dotd is not intended to be voyeuristic, nor is it intended to be a field guide for cis people discovering trans bodies. If the drawings excite you, then they excite you. They excite me, too. And if you learn something, you learn something! Hell, yeah.
